Why we built it
Asset migrations fail in predictable ways: a script that downloads everything then dies halfway; a destination that silently drops tags and alt text; thousands of res.cloudinary.com or drive.google.com links scattered across a site that all break on cutover. Teams stay on platforms they’ve outgrown — paying renewals they resent — purely because the migration looks too risky.
Univaultport turns that risk into infrastructure. Deep connectors for the systems enterprises actually leave, field-by-field schema translation, streaming transfers that resume, and an audit trail you can hand to security — so switching becomes a project with a checklist, not a leap of faith.
What we believe
Metadata is the asset
A file copy is the easy 20%. The value is in the tags, taxonomy, rights, and workflow state around it — so we map every field into the destination’s native schema instead of flattening it to bare filenames.
Stream, never buffer
Assets move directly source→destination as streams, with resume-on-failure. That’s what lets a multi-terabyte library migrate without a fragile, all-or-nothing export sitting on someone’s laptop.
Read-only and audited
We never write back to your source. Every transfer emits a per-asset audit row — fetch, acknowledgement, latency, retries — so a migration is something you can prove, not just hope went right.
No lock-in, usage-based
You pay for what you migrate, with no subscription and free credits to test first. The whole point is portability — it would be strange to trap you on the way out of someone else’s platform.
